My 4 year old has attempted to read the first few of these and although needing quite a lot of assistance initially, the subject matter and the fact that they are not too long and that there are more to come has really encouraged him to try and read them himself.

Reiko(30/08/2015)

these books are a god send. My 4 year old boy started reception in September. He has not grasped the phonics or reading and we have struggled so much to get him interested. I've got to admit that the Biff, Chip & Kipper stories wouldn't grip me either - but that's not today's review! We'd bought various apps and other books but they'd been flat out rejected by my son. then I came across these and thought they would be worth a try. Am SO pleased I did. Each little book focuses on a phonic sound and introduces a new aspect of batman. Everything from meeting his enemies, and learning about the bat cave to finding out about the gadgets etc. Each book only has 5 short pages - so you can quickly read through these and then spot the familiar words and learn some new favourites such as joker, penguin etc. My son is gripped. And given how much he'd refused to get involved or do any reading before - this is amazing. .We're going to buy more in the series, they're worth every penny!

Bought as a Christmas present for my Godson .. he is rising 5 yrs .. and it has brought his reading and developed his imagination and story telling confidence on fantastically ..

Terisa(20/08/2015)

This set of 12 books is great -they are relatively easy to read (my son started learning to read in school last September (its now June) and is extremely keen to read all of these as its about Batman ! I would use these books as 'paired reading' where an adult will read along with the child where necessary. My son would not be able to read these independently yet -and I join in with longer words which aren't on his school word list. (e.g. terrible, criminals, together, disappear) but there are not so many of these in each book as to put an early reader off if they like Batman. It focuses on different short and long vowel sounds in each book which makes life so much easier for home support. I also use the DK early readers (pre-reader and level 1) -star wars and Lego books in conjunction with the Batman phonics

Burl(19/08/2015)

Lesli(15/08/2015)

its brought my son on leaps n bounds with them being batman it makes him want to read all the time

Ching(14/08/2015)

5/5

This is a great set of books to help young ones learn how to read. Phonics is becoming a common way to learn but Batman makes it a bit more fun.

Theressa(13/08/2015)

Byron(11/08/2015)

Emile(08/08/2015)

5/5

I bought these books for my 4 year old grandson and he has enjoyed trying to read them. They are all about his Super Hero.

Flor(06/08/2015)

5/5

These have my little boy interested in reading as he's a big batman fan.

Katy(05/08/2015)

5/5

I bought these for my son for Christmas knowing that it would take him a while to be able to read them himself as he's only 5 and in reception still. He can now recite 2 of them off by heart, checking the words as he goes along and can remember some sentences from all of them. He's recognising more and more words himself and absolutely loves them. I think these are great for any child starting to read as they can get more out of them as their skills develop and as they're short they're not daunting. The pictures are great as well and helped with the discussion about the story.

Maurice(04/08/2015)

5/5

Everything as it should be

Francesca(04/08/2015)

5/5

Thank you!

Lilian(03/08/2015)

5/5

My boys are 6 and 3 and they both love these books short enough for an extra read before bedtime and perfect to get my older boy reading also perfectly packed in the little box for travel! Would highly recommend I also bought my nieces some who are the same age fantastic!

Penelope(03/08/2015)

5/5

Nice simple stories with a few difficult words to challenge them. Much better than the school books.

Deb(03/08/2015)

5/5

Even though, some words are a bit difficult children will still attempt to read it. I bought these books as a present for one boy and now they seem to be a regular birthday bag filler. My sons also love it!

Sung(03/08/2015)

5/5

im a big batman fan and I absolutely love this I would recommend anyone to order it its great fun

Raelene(02/08/2015)

5/5

My little boy will be four shortly and loves these books. He is just starting to read, but obviously can only cope with very simple words and sentences. These books are pitched at just the right level so that with help he can read a whole one at a time, and the Batman theme keeps him interested as they don't feel like baby books. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Rosalyn(01/08/2015)

5/5

Although this is above the level of a complete beginner, the stories are enthralling to my 3 year old, and the opening sections (vowel sounds, sight words etc.) have given him a good basis to move onto more manageable stories. I have read him all 12 books about 20 times each, and he's still enjoying it.

Jamika(31/07/2015)

5/5

These are excellent little books, great for young readers and I would recommend them. As all kids are unique and learn at different speeds and have varying abilities it is hard to say whether these books would be good for your child. when it comes to reading, age is not the issue, ability is and instilling a love of reading is important too, it should be fun, not a chore, and with batman, wonder woman and superman it should be fun! I would recommend these if your child loves batman and is 5+. Mine is only just 5 years old at the time of writing this, it was his birthday last week. They are a little advanced for his current ability but he loves batman and loves looking at the pictures and describing the story he sees, he also likes having his older brother read them to him, his older brother is 9 and autistic with his own learning difficulties and he reads them perfectly well independently. it's lovely watching the two of them share these books.

Delora(31/07/2015)

5/5

my son loves them

Hsiu(31/07/2015)

5/5

Really tiny books but excellent layout for children who are learning to read. Overall lovely product

5/5

Bought this for nephew's birthday which had a superhero theme. Arrived quickly well packaged. He loves it. Adds a bit more excitement to reading...

Argentina(19/07/2015)

5/5

These books are excellent for helping youngsters develop their phonics and are centred around a character so many young lads relate to - highly recommend them!

Julius(17/07/2015)

5/5

My son loves batman and now loves reading! Yey!!

Shyla(16/07/2015)

5/5

My daughter (aged nearly 4) loves these. She's going through a super hero phase, so was happy to find these books. Wonder Woman and a few other Herod feature in them, which I was pleased to see. Some learn to read books are just painfully boring, nice to have so etching you actually want to read for once!

Modesta(15/07/2015)

5/5

Great product

Pok(12/07/2015)

5/5

Lovely little books

Idella(08/07/2015)

5/5

this review is written by my five year old son. "I thought it was really good because the pictures were really drawn well. They had lots of words I was familiar with sounding out and I enjoyed reading them. The stories were good too!

Floria(07/07/2015)

5/5

Very good grandson loves them batman mad 5 yrs old can read all of them. Great

Kasie(06/07/2015)

5/5

My son loved reading these batman stories - and was able to read them by himself without any adult help.

Towanda(06/07/2015)

5/5

My son loves these books and they're really helping him with his reading - it helps that it is a character that he loves anyway but the books are great and I wouldn't hesitate to buy the next level when he's ready

Santos(05/07/2015)

5/5

Grandchildren loved it. Nice looking little box.

Tressie(04/07/2015)

Fantastic. Very quick delivery

Kaley(02/07/2015)

5/5

These are really good books for a child who is interested in Batman and needs help with reading. There are lots of interesting words in them.

Brad(02/07/2015)

5/5

My little boy has found these really interesting, there are some big words but as they are all Superhero words he really enjoys reading them.

Vaughn(01/07/2015)

5/5

This are a great little set of twelve small square full colour books (booklets really)in a box. The stories contain some challenging words, but not too difficult so as to be off-putting. My 6 year old - who is a good reader but gets bored with the usual stuff aimed at his age group - was impressed. He insisted on us reading all 12 in one sitting and hopefully we'll get a few more bedtimes out of it. Ordered the Superman version as well, hope it will be as much of a hit.

Shala(01/07/2015)

5/5

My confident reader (5 years) loves these, they have built up his confidence to tackle difficult words and introduced him to new vocabulary.

Clarence(28/06/2015)

5/5

Great quality product, educational yet enjoyable for young nephew to help him expand his vocabulary and improve his speech through phonics

Phillis(25/06/2015)

5/5

Some tricky words but great for batman fans! Can't wait for my little soldier to be able to read them by himself!

Guillermo(22/06/2015)

5/5

Excellent little books, 12 in the set and perfect for bed time reading. Suitable for 4 to 8 year old I would think

Sena(17/06/2015)

5/5

Love it

Paul(17/06/2015)

5/5

These books are each about 6 pages long and about 12cm x12cm. The box is a little deceptive as it makes the books look bigger than they are. However the books themselves are brilliant for beginners who know a few key words and their phonic sounds. The illustrations are interesting and comic book quality and the text is a fair mixture between the keywords, phonic words and a few interesting words to keep the text interesting. A very early reader will need some help - They are not as easy as the books sent home from school - but my son loves them. They were so popular that I ordered the Spiderman and Superman versions within a week of giving these to him. Well worth the money.

Alexis(16/06/2015)

5/5

Birthday present for my 5 year old who loves super heroes. He loves them and can now read them all. Words at front of book to learn and fun batman words. About five minutes to read. Approximately 75 words of story per book.

Verna(14/06/2015)

5/5

Fab for my son he's just on ks1 in school so he loves reading these books and showing off because he can read them himself

Haydee(11/06/2015)

5/5

5 year old son loves them , some of the words are quite hard.

Evangelina(06/06/2015)

5/5

Short, but my son loves this set. We used them as an introduction to bigger books, e.g. Roald Dahl.

Margie(06/06/2015)

5/5

Good books for young Batman fans taking an interest in reading

Jacinda(06/06/2015)

5/5

5 year old loves reading these. Makes phonics fun

Lawanna(05/06/2015)

5/5

Thank you great product and very fast delivery.

Cletus(04/06/2015)

5/5

Bought these for my 5 year old son who is learning to read. I wanted to get him some books that he would WANT to read, as some of the books out there for his age can be very boring!! Well....it worked! I often go up to his room to find him reading the books to himself. He loves them and they are perfect for his age and reading stage! Would definitely recommend!

Kira(29/05/2015)

5/5

My son got these together with the Spiderman set, for Christmas, and so far has really enjoyed reading these. They encourage reading alone which I find is particularly good for boys. My son, aged 5, has sufficient reading knowledge through school to read alone and he gets a sense of achievement and pride through being able to read and tell us about the books with no pressure to learn new things. Any other books we have that he is capable of reading, tend to be a bit 'babyish' but the stories are relevant to his age group and are crucially about characters he wants to discover more about. Great idea and great product.

Geralyn(29/05/2015)

5/5

I bought these books for my son, they are really nice quality and have great pictures in them. Each story is only 6 pages long and has a few lines of text, so any child learning to read or that has just started will soon be reading these books. Very happy.

Regina(29/05/2015)

5/5

One sure way to get boys to read they love them because it's about super heroes. A really great buy

Manda(29/05/2015)

5/5

Enhanced our teaching sessions with our two year old grandson to read. Short sentences overcame attention span. Colourful pictures and decent quality paper.

Caroline(26/05/2015)

5/5

This is a lovely set of books for batman fans to help them to learn to read. I gave this to my nephew for his 4th birthday and he is very into batman at the moment.

Deon(24/05/2015)

5/5

Arrived in perfect condition . Brilliant for helping small children with reading by appealing to their interests . Very like school adding schemes .

Pamala(11/08/2015)

4/5

Good books for any comic book fan, I brought these for my son, who is starting school soon. Bit tricky for him to read, but great fun!

Tiera(10/08/2015)

4/5

Tricky but in a good way. Has really encouraged my 5 year old son to read. Very clever stories.

Sterling(25/07/2015)

4/5

Batman and education?!?! Genius!! Lovely little set of books to capture the superhero eye whilst assisting with reading skills. Great birthday pressie!

Miki(20/07/2015)

4/5

My 5 year old boy loves being able to 'read' these simple books. great extension to the books from school.

Oma(17/07/2015)

4/5

Ideal for encouraging the reluctant student who would prefer to play Batman than read, but this was a firm favourite

Glen(17/07/2015)

4/5

12 books perfect for a child just learning to read, just a few words per page but plenty to keep them interested.

Duane(16/07/2015)

4/5

The books are quite small, however a god little set.

Eliza(13/07/2015)

4/5

these books were smaller than I thought they would be, and would be perfect for a child who can already read as there are quite a few hard words in them, my son loves them and is learning new words every time we read them together.

Margaretta(08/07/2015)

4/5

My son really enjoys these books and is helping him get into reading. it is also helping him to gain confidence and he will now try reading things independently as well as with me

Brittni(26/06/2015)

4/5

Lovely books, a great way to encourage a super hero fan to read

Rosalinda(26/06/2015)

4/5

My kids loved them and couldn't wait to open them up for a look. They were great. The pictures and characters involved were brilliant. There were however some difficult words which put my youngest off trying to read them. I'm sure once the words have been learned all will be fine. I am happy with the purchase.

Sandy(23/06/2015)

4/5

These were for my 5 year old grandson. He loved them, but I thought they could have been a bit larger. They are being well read by him and his parents.

Yaeko(19/06/2015)

4/5

My 5 year old loves them , helps with his reading and word learning whilst keeping a fun interest in his favourite super hero

Margery(19/06/2015)

4/5

These are more like tiny little booklets than actual books and are a fraction of the size of the box. I was a little disappointed.

Sherri(13/06/2015)

4/5

I got these for my son to encourage him with his reading (he is 5) and he really loves them - he even took them to bed with him when he got them! The cardboard box they come in isn't very substantial, but that would be my only criticism.

Imogene(09/06/2015)

4/5

I thought my son would love reading these, some of the words are hard and he wanted to give up easily.

Coy(06/06/2015)

4/5

I think these are quite 'advanced' to be called 'phonics' books. There are some pretty long words in there. But the subject matter and pictures mean by little boy wants to keep reading them, so he's learning as much by repetition as anything else (still a good way to learn to read). You get 12 books - each just 6 pages of short sentences, but with pictures to go along, which is about the right length. Reasonable value I think.

Pat(03/06/2015)

4/5

I bought these for my young grandson. Although he is only 3 it managed to get him interested in reading and books something we had not really been able to do before. The reason for this it being a 'more grown up' subject and made him feel a big boy. He now has to read one every evening before bed...sorry mum!

Bennie(30/05/2015)

4/5

As other reviews have said they are a bit more complicated than other phonics books but I bought these for my son's 5th birthday and he really enjoys trying to read them as he is such a big batman fan. A definite must for batman fans as it keeps them interested as they read.

Rowena(29/05/2015)

4/5

Good item to help with grasping phonics

Ha(28/05/2015)

4/5

My 5 year old son, a reluctant reader, loves this box set. Not for those just beginning to read though as quite a few tricky words.

Bryon(25/05/2015)

4/5

Very good if your learning to read. Got this for my 5 year old and he loves it. Would buy again. Nice that all 12 books have the carry box for them to go in too.

Lindsay(25/05/2015)

4/5

12 small books my nearly 6 year old cam read them well. And loved them as they were Batman :)

Gilberto(24/05/2015)

4/5

My three-year-old daughter loves superheroes, so the stories held her attention for quite a while. As the bumf inside says, the subject matter motivates the kids to read. Some of the words are a little long for young children, but they can recognise and point them out, even if they can't actually read them yet. The 'books' (pamphlets) are short, but it means they are not too daunting for the children. I couldn't help but feel a little ripped off by the empty box inside the packaging to make it look more substantial. Overall, I would say for the price, if the child is interested in Batman, this is worth a try.

Fredricka(02/09/2015)

3/5

Firstly I would like to advise that the books inside appeared fine, they were a gift so I cannot say if they have been helpful. My reason for average stars is the item was received all battered up and considering it was a gift, that's disappointing!

Mohamed(30/07/2015)

3/5

Batman fans will loves these books, but some of the vocabulary is really hard for little ones, so will be a long time before my 5 year old can read independently. Nonetheless he enjoys looking at the pictures. Books are actually a lot smaller than the box.

Hans(29/07/2015)

3/5

Fun book which is easy to read learning for children especially boys! It arrived very quickly and was easy to order

Michel(07/07/2015)

3/5

Too difficult to read without adults help.

Lolita(07/07/2015)

3/5

Box is a lot bigger than the books it contains. Books are paperback, colourful and my son loves all the batman details. The vocabulary is more advanced than a child beginning to read would be used to. A nice collection of books- great for car journeys.

Hermine(22/06/2015)

3/5

These are far more difficult than they are made out to be. My son is working at Phase 2-3 and although there are some words he can segment and blend in these books there are an awful not of words which are not accessible. He desperately wants to read them but needs to wait a bit yet.

Saran(18/06/2015)

3/5

They're a little odd these. I think the concept is great - kids love superheroes and anything that gets them reading more is a great idea, but the implementation is a little disappointing. The books themselves are very small/short (most of the box is taken up with cardboard padding, which makes me wonder why they don't just use a smaller box!) and though it's all "learn to read" standard, there are some strangely complicated words in there. We use them, but not as much as other books with the same goal.

Herminia(02/06/2015)

3/5

I was rather disappointed than convinced. The books are more like the pixi books that I read in my childhood. The font and amount of words are very nice but the words are very difficult. My little one is on level 6 in school and he struggles with at least one word on every page. But he likes looking at the pictures and maybe one day it will help him. Unfortunately it took a long time before the books arrived and the whole box was flatten. There was no notice that the post man should not squeeze them into our mail box. Just as an idea for the next delivery.

Hong(30/05/2015)

3/5

I bought this for my son to read during the holidays having just finished reception. These books are too advanced for him, I think they might be suitable about midway/end of year 1, so we haven't read them yet as he was getting frustrated. They are also American English. But he was keen to read them with Batman on the front.
