Key Stage 2 (or KS2) is a statutory framework for children in the school years between Year 3 and Year 6 children in England. It defines what children need to be taught by their teachers and forms a part of the national curriculum.
KS2 covers four school years and hence an enormous number of core English and Maths topics. Phonics is largely forgotten as children become more and more literate, improving their reading, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Children also learn multiplication times tables, complex addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division together with fractions, decimals, geometry, units, measures, and plenty more! Then there's Science, geography, history, modern languages, and much, much more. KS2 is enormous!
