Key Stage 3 (or KS3) is a statutory learning framework for children in the school years between Year 7 and Year 9 in England. It defines what children need to be taught by their teachers and forms a part of the national curriculum.
KS3 covers the first three years in secondary school and hence plenty of core English, Maths and Science topics.
We strongly recommend that parents spend time with their children studying workbooks and study books to help them master all of the English, Maths & Science challenges throughout KS3.
At the end of KS3, in the May period of Year 9, children will normally take their KS3 SATs - a challenging set of tests in English, Maths and Science. Although these tests are no longer formal, children need to demonstrate their abilities in preparation for their upcoming (and all-important) GCSE exams.
