Children sitting the GL 11+ face four subjects, and a gap in any one shows up on the day. This pack of four workbooks covers all of them at a level set for ages 9-10. Your child can start in Year 5 and carry on into Year 6. A Year 6 child with one weak subject can use just that book.
Each workbook begins with topic sections, one skill at a time. Your child builds confidence there, then meets the timed assessment tests at the back. Those tests build speed and accuracy. Every book explains its answers in full, so you can see where the thinking went wrong. The sample non-verbal page has children counting sides and lines of symmetry.
The four printed workbooks split the 11+ by subject. English takes in comprehension and parts of speech, and maths covers number and problem solving. The GL 11+ Workbook Pack (Ages 9-10) is perfectly suited for children in Year 5 or Year 6 who are preparing to take the GL Assessment 11+ exams, which are typically sat in the September - October period of Year 6.
This resource is also ideal for children preparing for other 11+ test providers, including FSCE, CSSE, the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET), as well as 11+ exams authored by individual grammar schools themselves.
While specifically designed for children preparing for the GL 11+ tests, the GL 11+ Workbook Pack (Ages 9-10) also provides excellent preparation for independent school entrance exams, typically held in the January - February period of Year 6.
