Your child is working towards the GL 11+ for grammar or independent school entry. This English workbook keeps each test to roughly ten minutes, so one after tea fits around homework and clubs. A Year 6 child can use the same tests.
Over 30 tests fill the 114 printed pages, and each one moves between comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and grammar. On one sample page your child reads about a stranger, then answers five questions. Some are multiple choice, and some need a written answer.
Puzzle pages sit between the tests, with word chains where your child changes one letter at a time. Another test closes with four multiple-choice questions and a space to write a synonym. Answers and a progress chart are at the back, so you can see which topics need another look.
