Your child is in Year 3, and this pack starts their 11+ preparation across all four GL subjects.
Year 3 gives you time, and this pack of four workbooks puts it to good use. Your child meets all four GL Assessment subjects at a level written for ages 7-8, well before the real papers come into view. The question types then feel familiar rather than strange when the 11+ arrives.
Each workbook opens with topic-by-topic pages, so your child works on one skill at a time. Timed Assessment Tests follow, twelve each in the two reasoning books and six in maths, with a selection in English too. The sample pages show the kind of work involved: twelve spelling questions on plural nouns, and twelve missing number sums in the verbal reasoning book. Every question has a fully explained answer.
The verbal and non-verbal books introduce the puzzle types selective schools use, while maths and English build the problem solving, comprehension and spelling that sit behind them. Codes inside each cover open the Online Editions, so your child can also practise on a PC, Mac or tablet. Altogether that is 352 printed pages of early 11+ groundwork for a Year 3 child.

The GL 11+ Workbook Pack (Ages 7-8) is perfectly suited for children in Year 3 who are preparing to take the GL Assessment 11+ exams, which are typically sat in the September - October period of Year 6.
This resource is also ideal for children preparing for other 11+ test providers, including FSCE, CSSE, the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET), as well as 11+ exams authored by individual grammar schools themselves.
While specifically designed for children preparing for the GL 11+ tests, the GL 11+ Workbook Pack (Ages 7-8) also provides excellent preparation for independent school entrance exams, typically held in the January - February period of Year 6.
