About the Year 1 Maths Study & Workbook Pack (Ages 5-6)
Here are our top reasons to buy the Year 1 Maths Study & Workbook Pack (Ages 5-6):
- 4 books of Year 1 maths for ages 5-6, matched to the National Curriculum
- 160 pages across the 3 CGP books: the Targeted Study & Question Book, the Maths Workout Book and the Mental Maths Workout Book
- Plus a whole year of activities in the Scholastic Year 1 Maths Workbook
- Covers counting, mental arithmetic, problem solving, shapes and telling the time
- Two objective tests, Time Yourself tests and answers, with a PDF answer file to download
Your Year 1 child is learning to count to 100 and tell the time, and these four books give them that practice at home.
Counting to 100, number facts to 20, shapes and time: this Year 1 maths pack follows the topics your child meets in class. All four books match the National Curriculum for ages 5-6. A Year 2 child still shaky on number facts can go back over the basics here without feeling babyish.
Each topic in the study and question book opens with colourful notes, then questions on the same skill. The two workout books add quick written practice and timed mental maths tests. Answers sit in the CGP books, with the mental maths ones in a removable section, and the Scholastic answers come as a PDF download from Exam Ninja.
The questions come in small pieces, so a child of five or six can finish one and feel pleased. They count blocks to split a number into tens and ones, circle the ladybird with the least spots, and read word problems about cars, cakes and kittens. A confident Reception child who is ready for harder work can start here too.
