About the Phonics Screening Test Practice Papers (Ages 5-6)
In June 2024, your child will sit a formal Phonics Screening Check.
The Phonics Screening Check is a one-to-one test given by a teacher that seeks to assess how well they have learned to decode words using phonics. Your child will sit with the teacher and be asked to read 40 words aloud. Some words will be simple and familiar, some will be more complex and some will be 'non-words', 'alien words' or 'invalid words'.
Phonics are complicated. There's a pass mark and if your child doesn't reach it, they'll have to do it all again in 2025. It's scary stuff for kids (and strangely unfamiliar for parents) but it's no problem, Exam Ninja's got you covered - three full sets of Phonics Screening Check Practice Papers!
These Phonics practice papers are the most authentic practice materials available for the test.
Each test has been modelled closely on the real Phonics papers in both content and appearance. Real words are in there, non-words are in there too and there's a very helpful and devilishly detailed Guidance & Marking Booklet!
These Phonics Screening Check Practice Papers contain three Phonics Screening Checks as well as additional phonics activities and a very helpful guidance booklet.
They offer genuinely realistic practice to allow children to master the required skills, boost confidence and perform better in the real-life test.
