The check asks children to read words aloud by sounding them out, so each sound needs to be secure. This Year 1 phonics workbook takes them one at a time, in the order of the Letters and Sounds programme. Your child meets ay, ou, ie, ea, oy and more than a dozen others.
Each page of this 48-page printed workbook sets one short task. On the oy page, your child spots the sound, writes words into frames and circles the right picture for a sentence.
